If you could bottle a proper Donegal wedding day — a bit of craic, a lot of heart, stunning views, and a dance floor that doesn’t quit — Ailise and Kevin’s day in Rathmullan would be it. From a relaxed morning getting ready to a full-on party that went well into the night, this was one of those weddings where everything just clicked.
The day kicked off with great energy on both sides. Ailise was getting ready with her six bridesmaids, and the room had that lovely mix of calm moments and plenty of champagne.
Meghan Laird looked after makeup, creating an elegant look that suited Ailise perfectly. Patricia McGovern handled hair, and between them both, the whole bridal party looked unreal. Plenty of laughs, a bit of music in the background and good fun — everything you’d hope for on a wedding morning.
Over with Kevin, with seven groomsmen around him, there was no shortage of men to help him get dressed.

St Joseph’s Church was looking class when guests arrived, thanks to Oak & Rose who styled both the church and later the venue.
Zara Montgomery provided the music for the ceremony, and it really set the tone beautifully. There’s something about live music in a church that just hits differently — it adds a lot of feeling to the moment, and this was no exception.
Fr Eamonn Kelly officiated the ceremony, keeping things warm, genuine, and personal. There were smiles, laughs and plenty of meaningful moments as Ailise and Kevin said their vows in front of their family and friends.

After the ceremony, we made the most of Rathmullan’s surroundings for photos. Donegal really does the hard work for you when it comes to backdrops, and on this day, it showed off in style. Soft light, a bit of fresh Atlantic air, and that peaceful coastal feel — perfect conditions.
Ailise and Kevin were brilliant to work with — very natural together, loads of laughs, and happy to take a bit of time away from the crowd to soak it all in. The bridal party brought great energy too. With six bridesmaids and seven groomsmen, there was a good mix of organised chaos and great fun, which always makes for the best kind of photos.

Rathmullan House is always a great spot for a wedding, and it didn’t disappoint. Guests arrived for the drinks reception to a really warm and welcoming atmosphere. You could tell people were properly settling in to enjoy the day.
The Aria String Quartet played during the drinks reception, adding a lovely relaxed vibe in the background.
Oak & Rose worked their magic again in the reception space. Everything tied together beautifully — from the bouquets to the room décor, it all felt very cohesive and thoughtfully done.
Once everyone was called in for dinner, the atmosphere shifted up a gear. Rathmullan House is known for its food, and it definitely lived up to the reputation. It’s always a big part of the day, and guests were well looked after from start to finish.

After dinner and speeches, it was time to cut the cake — one of those small but important moments that signals things are about to kick up a notch. Surrounded by family and friends, Ailise and Kevin took it all in before the evening really got going.
The Porter Bellys took over for the evening entertainment, and they absolutely nailed it. From the first song, the dance floor was packed — and it pretty much stayed that way all night.

What made Ailise and Kevin’s day so special wasn’t just the setting — although Rathmullan on a good day is hard to beat — it was the feeling of it all. It was relaxed, full of personality, and just good fun from beginning to end.
From a beautiful ceremony in St Joseph’s Church to a full-on celebration in Rathmullan House, this was a wedding that had a bit of everything — emotion, laughter, style, and plenty of dancing.
Wishing Ailise and Kevin nothing but the very best for what’s ahead — if their wedding day is anything to go by, they’re in for some great times.
