Maebh & Sean’s wedding in Lough Eske Castle, Co Donegal

I met up with Sean and the boys first thing that morning down at Lough Eske. They were braving the Donegal weather to take a dip in the lake.

I arrived at the magnificent Lough Eske Castle outside Donegal Town. Maebh and her bridesmaids were in the final stages of getting the final touches done to their hair and makeup by Polished.

Sean and the groomsmen where just down the corridor getting into their navy suits. There was plenty of time to have a quick pint of Guinness in the hotels bar for the boys before heading off to the ceremony.

Maebh was helped into her beautiful white wedding dress by her mother. We got a few family photos in the General White suite of the hotel before made her way down the grand staircase and then made her way off to the church.

A fantastic vintage Bentley wedding car brought Meabh and her father to St Mary’s Church in Killybegs. Fr. Donagh O’Meara was the officiant of the marriage ceremony. Sean and Maebh exchanged their wedding vows and rings on the alter in front of their friends and family. Once the official register was signed they made their way down the aisle. They were congratulated by all their guest outside the church door.

All the family photos were taken inside the beautifully decorated church. So that when that when they arrived back to the hotel they could enjoy the music and mingle with friends at the drinks reception.

Lough Eske Castle

On the way back to Lough Eske Castle took a slight detour towards Mountcharles Pier for some photos with the Atlantic and Benbulben Mountain in the background. Simon, the wedding coordinator had a couple of glasses of bubbly ready for the newly wed couple as they arrived back to the castle.

Liam Gannon was playing the piano for the guests at the drinks reception . After the meal, speeches and the cutting of the cake were finished, we headed out for some sunset photos. We got some photos on the shores of Lough Eske and a few outside the castle, just as the light was fading.

All the guests made a circle around the dance floor for the first dance. Maebh had got some sparklers for a nighttime photos outside with their friends and family.
