I recently had the immense pleasure of capturing the beautiful wedding day of Enya and James. They got married in Ard’s Friary and An Chuirt hotel was their chosen wedding venue. Their special day was filled with joy, laughter, and heartfelt moments, set against the stunning backdrop of Ard’s Friary in Donegal. From the intricate preparations to the lively reception, it was a day that Enya and James will never forget.

An Chuirt Wedding
Bridal Preparations

The day began with a flurry of activity as Enya and her bridesmaids prepared for the ceremony. The talented Megan Laird worked her magic on their hair, creating elegant styles that perfectly complemented their dresses and the overall theme of the wedding. Meanwhile, Kerrie James applied flawless makeup, enhancing the natural beauty of each of the girls with her expert touch. The room was filled with excited chatter and laughter, setting the tone for the joyous day ahead.

  The Ceremony

Ard’s Friary provided a breathtaking setting for Enya and James’ nuptials. The serene surroundings and historic architecture created a perfect backdrop for their vows. The ceremony was a family affair, officiated by Enya’s uncle, Fr. Pat McGarvey, alongside Fr. John Joe Duffy. Their personal touches and heartfelt words made the service deeply meaningful.

A Stop at McNulty’s Bar

On the way to An Chuirt Hotel for the reception, the bridal party made a stop at McNulty’s Bar. This impromptu visit added a delightful twist to the day, with a few drinks, traditional Irish songs. The bar’s warm and welcoming atmosphere made it a perfect spot for the bridal party to relax and enjoy themselves before the evening’s festivities. James even sang a song.

The Reception

The reception at An Chuirt Hotel was beautifully decorated, reflecting Enya and James’ style and the natural beauty of Donegal. Guests were treated to a sumptuous meal, followed by heartfelt speeches that brought laughter and tears in equal measure.

The entertainment for the evening was provided by the fantastic Red Alert band from Glenties. Their energetic performance got everyone on their feet, dancing and celebrating into the night. The band’s mix of classic hits and modern favourites ensured that the dance floor was never empty, and the atmosphere was electric.
